1996–2004 · Jolicure Pond

Many of Holownia’s projects can be compared to the genre of ‘extended portrait’ — a durational work reflecting an intimate and evolving engagement.

The Jolicure Pond is an artificial pond lying below the home of Thaddeus Holownia in Jolicure, New Brunswick. The series of colour landscape photographs, made between 1996–2000, examines the changing face of light above the horizon and those in the landscape and particularly the surface of the pond.
